CASE STUDY | Distillery gatehouse refurbishment

The North British Distillery is one of Scotland’s oldest and largest Scotch grain whisky producers. Scotch grain whisky must only be matured in Scotland in an oak cask, for a minimum of three years.  Almost the entire production of North British grain whisky spirit is sold to customers for blending purposes. Quantities of North British grain whisky are included in many well-known blended brands.

When they refurbished the Gatehouse at their Muirhall complex they approached us to furnish it.  The brief was to design spaces which reflect the quality of their product and service.

The reception and main meeting room with their impressive highlight walls, made from oak casks, required furniture to compliment these stunning features.

Attractive reception chairs and glass coffee table help to create a warm welcome

The cask meeting room

For high quality and timeless looks, we selected the table from our Sven Ambus range. We opted for integrated power and data which gives extra functionality. Then we paired this table with elegant F3 conference armchairs.  The polished chrome tubular steel frames and upholstered arms we specified, enhance the appearance.

Additional meeting space

We used Mobili Jack circular table to furnish a further meeting room. The retractable central power module allows for easy connection to technology. Also, to meet the challenge of providing unobtrusive storage, we installed a matching storagewall.

We chose Topaz seating from Edge Design for quality, style and functionality.  We selected sled base meeting chairs from this range for the meeting room seating.

Open Plan Office

Then we furnished the open plan office area with Mobili Contrax desks and pedestals in contrasting Grey and Romana Cherry finish for a contemporary look.  The fabric covered S2 screens provide privacy and noise reduction to help staff concentrate when they need to.

Because Topaz offers a solution to a variety of functions and applications, we were able to select multi-function task chairs for the office, from this same range.

In short, our project has resulted in an attractive, cost effective and robust solution for a busy organisation.

Furthermore, Project Manager, Steven Gentles, said “Park Systems met the brief. Everything was well organised, from planning through to completion by their own professional installation team. In addition the furniture is of very good quality at a competitive cost”
